Ray School Walk-a-Thon 2018: Stepping up our support for Ray!

Why should you donate to the Ray School Walk-a-Thon?  Listen to what our administration, teachers, students and parents have to say....

"The PTO's Walk-a-Thon fundraiser supports one of the most important parts of a Ray student's day - recess and play!  In a budget climate where resources are more and more scarce each year, this fundraiser provides our school with responsible and community-based educators as recess monitors.  The $25,000 raised last year by our school community provided a daily support from the first day of school - something we could not have provided within our own school budget.  We hope this fundraiser continues to support staffing in order to ensure student safety and play."    -- Megan Thole, Principal
"As the mom of two active kids, I really appreciate the extra recess support provided by the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club staff.  Dwayne, Kelsey, Ramsey, and Kendalyn have done a great job getting everyone outside for recess and keeping Ray students safe and active."
-- Katie Gruber, Parent
"It has been great having consistency in recess supervision this year. Students are comfortable with the recess/lunch routine and are well organized when entering and exiting the building for recess and lunch. This year we have experienced fewer complaints from students and parents and feel the students really benefit from regular outdoor activity."  -- Heather Hall, 1st Grade Teacher
"The recess support staff is great.  The adults will play games like basketball with the students and that keeps the game fun and organized. Recess support adults will also check-in with students about their days. For instance, when someone is standing alone at recess, the recess support adult will go talk with that person to check-in and offer help or just be someone who is willing to listen."   -- 8th Grade Student
